Higher Nebulization Efficiency: Conventional pneumatic nebulizers are generally only 2-3% efficient under normal operating conditions. The piezoelectric transducer of the U5000AT+ converts more of the liquid sample into a usable aerosol, with an efficiency of 10-15%. The result is up to 10x improvement in analyte signal.
Lower Detection Limits: With ICP-AES, instrument detection limits (IDLs) fall below 1ppb for many elements. For ICP-MS, sub-ppt limits can be achieved with consideration of contamination sources: reagent impurities, solution containers, laboratory environment.
Short-Term and Long-Term Stability: Short-term (1 hour) and long-term (8 hour) signal stability is excellent, with %RSDs typically < 1%.
Fewer Adjustments: The U5000AT+ has an auto-tuning oscillator for stable operation. No adjustment is needed for different sample types (aqueous or organic).
Built-in Desolvation: An efficient, built-in electrothermal desolvation system is used instead of a recirculating chiller. Electrothermal desolvation prevents solvent overloading of the ICP, saves laboratory bench space and reduces maintenance. An on-board drain pump removes excess sample liquid from the spray chamber and condensers.
Quick Setup: All U5000AT+ units are provided with an interface kit for quick and easy connection to the host ICP-AES or ICP-MS. The kit includes a nebulizer gas line and a sample out line with the appropriate ICP torch adapter.
Easy Operation: Once liquid sample in introduced to the U5000AT+, simply press in the yellow operate button to generate the aerosol. Liquid samples can be continuously introduced via an autosampler such as the CETAC ASX-280/560.
Benchtop Operation: The U5000AT+ has a compact footprint (35.6 cm W x 34.9 cm D), allowing placement on a benchtop or laboratory cart
Modular Design: A modular design allows easy replacement of the entire glassware assembly. This unique feature can be useful when switching between very different sample types (ex. low dissolved solids vs. high dissolved solids; aqueous vs. organic). An optional membrane desolvator (CETAC MDX-200) can be added to the U5000AT+ for further removal of sample solvent (aqueous or volatile organic).
